Girls' Day + Dogs

Yesterday was another one of those "Oh, my gawd, I'm so happy/lucky to be alive" days. Maryann and Judy came up from down by Nashville, MI, Heather from Kalamazoo area, Beth from Alma, and neighbors - Billie and Karen filled my house with love - and dogs as you can see above. Widge, we can hardly see you back there. Five more were left home. They all got along great except once when my Sheltie Max didn't want little beagle Penny near his friend human Billie. (Or maybe, because he was the only male in the house & had to assert himself ☺)
♥♥♥♥♥
It was pretty neat because 4 of us do get messages from animals and I have been worried about Max because he has been so clingy to me since Smitty died. They helped me come to the conclusion that, yes, he is a little insecure, but will be fine, and that I need to include him on my daily walks.

What a great picture!! the dogs are all so beautiful, how did you get them all to sit together so nicely?? Did someone have treats? Also love the alpaca pictures on your last post, your crias are so beautiful, you probably can not wait to get at that fibre!! Hope you had a great dog day.

Only one thing better than a house full of good people friends, and that adding a house full of dogs to the mix! lol It's wonderful that they all got along so well. My Daisy, australian kelpie, is very worried about other dogs eating her kibble and watches over it in a state of unnecessary apprehension. I think this behaviour started when I first brought her home from the pound, in her early days here, and my sister visited with her little shihpoo who gobbled up every last bit of Daisy's kibble at every opportunity and that seems to have marked her for life! lol I haven't been able to communicate to her that her food is safe and for her alone. Try as I might to ease her, she still stresses over this. And thunder. Hides and skulks under my desk. lol Otherwise a brilliant, sensitive, loyal, active best friend.
