I so this roving dyeing! And spinning it! OMG it's so much fun. I have a dozen 2 ounce bumps dyed up now for the Allegan show, but it's awfully hard not to sit right down and spin it up because I want to see what it looks like. I think the dyeing is linking into my watercolor passion which seems to be on hold right now. I do have a landscape with some sheep in it brewing in my head but probably won't wet up the watercolors until October after our alpaca show at Birch Run.

The granddaughters are coming on Thursday to spend a couple of days. Lucky us! I'm thinking of asking Meredith if she would like to spin a skein of alpaca to enter into the skein competition at the alpaca show. They have a youth division and it would be fun for her - if she wants to.
It's raining today! We so need it, and it's that nice gentle, all day, water the crops, type of rain. Thank you Mother Nature, Crop Goddess, Collective Energies, God or whoever provided this for us.

Yay dyeing! Your colors are fabbo. :-D You like watercolors too? I'm a poor painter, really, but watercolors are so fun for playing with color. They seem like a natural medium for dye-people to work with.

I don't blame you, I'd want to spin up that luscious roving as quick as I could. I'm sure it will be a huge hit. That is exactly the kind of rain we need. But none is in sight. My little pond has dried up and the larger one is getting extremely low!!!! We sing a song at church, "Let it rain, let it rain, open the floodgates of heaven." AMEN

*Gorgeous* color! And we finally have been getting some rain, too - I'm with you, thanks to Gaia! :)

You're looking for warp? What are you thinking of making?? :)

WEBS (www.yarn.com) is a good resource for lots of weaving yarns (cotton, tencel, silk, wool, linen, blends like alpaca(!)/silk, chenille, mill ends, good prices), so is Halcyon Yarn (more selection, more expensive) (www.halconyarn.com). I've ordered form Woodland Wool Works, too. Never ordered from Cotton Clouds, but they're popular with weavers.

Next time you're in a Barnes&Noble, pick up a copy of Handwoven magazine - tons of suppliers list and advertise there (might be a nice place for etsyFAST supplier types like yourself to look into advertising in, actually...).

Keep us posted! (looong comment, sorry, lol)

I'm loving the dyeing too! Thanks for the quick tip. I have been dyeing almost every day. And spindling it up just as soon as it's dried! I've found a new fiber passion!
